Yea. And not cheap. Even dealer pricing is high.

    3" VC for heat dissipation
Mms is quite low yet the FS is @ 18Hz
    Low inductance for a subwoofer
Xmech double that of the Xmax

Really nice driver but how expensive are we talking about here?
Guess we have to wait for the 15" Illuminator

Knowing Scan Speak xmax at half xmech is the bare minimum you get. I am surprised it's not the Illuminator they are releasing. When is the last time they released a Revelator? The Illuminator must be $1ooo

European sites have it at $550. Considering it's in the same price range as a Morel I'd say it's a bargain lols

Some of the best bass I've heard was in a car with multiple Scan Speak 9"s. This one looks very juicy.

You really got to wonder how much better it sounds vs. the Discovery 12" though. I might pay $50 bucks more, maybe $100 because material cost is ridiculous but...$550? For an Illuminator 13"...sure.

Would love to hear how it would compare to the TC 12 LMS-R. Granted, the LMS has Dual 2 ohm coils and since most here would wire series to avoid the cursed 1 ohm DCR, the Le would be fairly high (over 4 mH). Still, at 370 bucks I would bet it's still cheaper than the Scan by a lot and in car in the right enclosure the sonic differences would be hard to differentiate.

Most likely due to multiples sharing the load and not necessarily the particular speaker. This is often overlooked. As long as the driver is up to the task and you can use multiples, then anything similar would also be impressive.

I recently tested a GR Research SW-12-04 sub with 14.2 mm linear Xmax (limited by offset shorting ring it seems). All other specs looks good as well. $179.
