    Interesting... Could it be the 2nd harmonic is giving the tweet a mellow and warm type of sound while masking most of the detail you (Chad) felt lacking?

    Either one, the motor is the same basic design. Note the housing, the optimized rear chamber, the damping material, farraday shielding, venting through the former, etc etc. It has every checkbox filled in for a high end tweeter. The Scan adds waveguide loading and perfects all the other things on the list: the venting takes into account voice coil location, the shorting ring is an entire sleeve, the protective grilles don't bend (metal).

    Dunno, don't have them anymore to pop in and check.

    Moved on... It's not a marriage, it's a tweeter, no feelings to patch-up
