Based on specs which midbass would you choose and why?

    Installation:

-Will be installed into decently sealed up front doors
    -Need to play from 80hz -> 450hz
    -75watts RMS Available
-EQ equipment is available to smooth out any oddities.

    Midbass #1:

*Power handling: 100 watts RMS/150 watts max *VCdia: 1-3/8" *Le: 0.2 mH *Impedance: 4 ohms *Re: 3.4 ohms *Frequency range: 37-6,000 Hz *Fs: 37 Hz *SPL: 90.0 dB 1W/1m *Vas: 2.72 cu. ft. *Qms: 3.47 *Qes: 0.71 *Qts: 0.59 *Xmax: 6 mm *

    Midbass #2:

*Power Handling: 50 watts RMS/100 watts max *VCdia: 1-1/2" *Impedance: 4 ohms *Re: 3.6 ohms *Frequency range: 38-800 Hz *Fs: 38 Hz *SPL: 83 dB 1W/1m *Vas: 0.416 cu. ft. *Qms: 2.65 *Qes: 0.47 *Qts: 0.40 *Xmax 13 mm *

#1 sensitivity. looks (without modeling) as if it would do better not in an enclosure. pretty damn low inductance,

I agree with Chad, but that 13mm Xmax is tempting. Also, #2 looks like it may be more of a dedicated MB, but I would love to see the Le.

    Midbass #1: Le = 2 x 0.2mH (DVC)
    Midbass #2: Levc = 0.34mH

Not sure if that's what you were looking for. It's the only measurement in mH on each of the spec sheets.

The sensitivity for #1 looks excellent compared to #2 but as Chad said they look like an enclosure might hamper them.

Which would mean it would perform better in a leaky door?

and in reality, how much damn excursion do you need at 80 cycles?

This is tru. Would take gobs of power and a stiff suspension to control more xmax.

once that amp grabs a hold of that driver the suspension is not doing as much as you think. It's damped by the VERY LOW impedance of the amplifier. ESPECIALLY when in motion.

So suspension really only comes into play at lower power levels? Otherwise the amps power is enough to accurately control movement?
