Parts Express Clearance and Buyout Deals

Thought I'd start a thread to capture some of the PE Clearance and Buyout deals. Feel free to add as you see fit.

These look like they could be cool for a line array. $8 each if you buy 4 or more.

I'm looking at these HiVi Planars since it's a pretty low cost of entry. Always wanted to try some out.

HiVi RT2II Planar Isodynamic Tweeter Aluminum

HiVi RT2II Planar Isodynamic Tweeter Aluminum
Unlike other conventional tweeters and electrostatic speakers, the RT2II has an extremely wide sound dispersion in the horizontal plane. At the same time, it has a well controlled sound dispersion in the vertical plane. This helps to avoid disturbing floor and ceiling reflections in a home environment thus enhancing clarity and imaging accuracy. The RT2II features a larger membrane and radiating area than the RT1, providing higher power handling and a substantially lower cut off frequency. The large membrane is thermally attached to the rectangular cast aluminium face plate providing cooling and dramatically increasing dynamic range. Perfect for 2 or 3-way applications. Recommended second order crossover cut-off frequency - from 1.8kHz. The Series II version of the classic RT2 offers the same sonic performance as the original, but with updated cosmetic styling. The solid aluminum faceplate includes a bead-blasted finish on the main surface, with beveled brushed-aluminum towards the sides. The result is a visually stunning tweeter that gives a modern look to any project.

    Specifications: • Power handling: 80 watts RMS/115 watts max • Znom: 8 ohms • Re: 7.5 ohms • Frequency range: 1,700-21,000 Hz • SPL: 94 dB 1W/1m • Dimensions: Overall Diameter: 6-1/4" by 7-5/16", Cutout Diameter: 2-3/4" by 6-3/8", Mounting Depth: 3/4".

Aura NS6-255-8A 6" Paper Cone Neodymium Magnet Woofer - $9.00 when buying 4 or more.

Aura NS6-255-8A 6" Paper Cone Neodymium Magnet Woofer
Compact, lightweight bass driver for music playback and home theater systems. Aura's NRT motor design arranges eight precisely arced neodymium magnets in a circle surrounding the vented pole piece, creating an exceptionally deep and strong magnetic gap. The deeply set, underhung voice coil keeps more wire in the gap during operation than conventional designs, delivering astonishing low-distortion bass capability far in excess of what the driver's nominal Xmax rating would suggest. Buyout, limited quantities.

Specifications: *Power handling: 50 watts RMS/100 watts max *VCdia: 1" *Impedance: 8 ohms *Re: 6.0 ohms *Frequency response: 55-5,500 Hz *Fs: 55 Hz *SPL: 91 dB 1W/1m *Vas: 0.58 cu. ft. *Qms: 10.8 *Qes: 0.58 *Qts: 0.55 *Xmax: 3.9 mm *Dimensions: Outside diameter: 6-1/8", Cutout diameter: 5-3/8", Depth: 3-3/8".

    Tymphany TPY04W08O001ES 4" Woofer - $13

Die-cast basket, treated paper cone, and rubber surround. Flat spider and 1" copper voice coil on an aluminum former. Well-ventilated frame and pole piece relieve pressure and heat beneath the spider. Perfect for sealed MTM configurations or as a dedicated midrange in 3-way systems. Buyout, limited quantities. Specifications: *Power handling: 50 watts RMS/100 watts max *VCdia: 1" *Le: 0.80 mH *Impedance: 8 ohms *Re: 5.5 ohms *Frequency response: 80-6,000 Hz *Fs: 80 Hz *SPL: 86 dB 1W/1m *Vas: 0.12 cu. ft. *Qms: 3.67 *Qes: 0.64 *Qts: 0.55 *Xmax: 5 mm *Dimensions: A: 4-15/16" diagonally; 4-3/16" across flats, B: 3-13/16", C: 2-3/8".

    Vifa NE265W-04 10" Subwoofer - $99.00

    Vifa NE265W-04 10" Subwoofer

Vifa's NE Series full-range drivers feature an innovative sculpted, open cast aluminum basket design that minimizes internal acoustic reflections and acts as the neodymium motor's heatsink. An additional heatsink provides extra thermal dissipation. The cone is constructed of a coated natural wood fiber, with a butyl rubber surround designed by finite element analysis for linearity of performance. FEA techniques also contribute to the motor's copper cap, which reduces inductance.

    Specifications: • Power handling: 125 watts RMS/250 watts max • VCdia: 2" • Le: 0.16 mH • Impedance: 4 ohms • Re: 2.9 ohms • Frequency range: 20-2,000 Hz • Fs: 23 Hz • SPL: 88 2.83V/1m • Vas: 2.57 cu. ft. • Qms: 13.8 • Qes: 0.30 • Qts: 0.29 • Xmax: 9.05 mm • Dimensions: Overall Diameter: 10.45", Cutout Diameter: 9.25", Depth: 6".

Could be nice in a home audio 3 way that would be appropriately sized to actually play music.

I was thinking 3-way tower (or car install) as well. They look really nice for $99. Need to resist. I've got a pile of drivers just waiting for projects already.

Those little tymphany 4's don't suck in my opinion. Had them running in my kicks until the wife introduced her foot to the cone. My amp provides about 65w @ 4ohm and they probably would have benefited from a bit more power. I ran them from 300 - 3k @ 24db both ends.
